Honey plus coffee for a nagging cough

Your cold is gone, but you're still hacking. Try coffee with honey. When Iranian researchers compared a honey-coffee mixture to two different medications, the honey and coffee worked best to alleviate a lingering cough.

To try this remedy, combine 500 grams (17 ounces) of honey with 70 grams (2.5 ounces) of instant coffee and mix into a paste. Stir a tablespoon of the mixture into a glass of warm water every eight hours and drink up. People in the study stopped coughing after eight doses. (Note: Honey is dangerous for kids under age 1. Don’t try to soothe an infant’s cough with this remedy.) If your cough doesn't go away, see your doctor.
