Melt her heart — and some chocolate.

Dark chocolate is rich in polyphenols, antioxidants that neutralize harmful free radicals and help the whisper-thin lining of blood vessels stay healthy. No wonder a large 2010 study found that savoring six grams of chocolate a day (about a quarter of a regular candy bar) cut heart attack and stroke risk by 39 percent. By all means, offer up a traditional box of chocolates. Even better, melt dark chocolate in a double-boiler or the microwave as a dip or drizzle for strawberries or nuts.
