Hudacek recommends taking shorter, lukewarm showers or baths every two to three days. “Hot water can be very drying, and soap only needs to go where people sweat the most — the underarms and groin. You do not need to lather up on the arms and legs; just rinse those areas with water unless they have visible dirt.”
She also advises staying away from deodorant and antibacterial soaps, as they can be extra drying. In general, she says “no soap is the best soap” on dry skin, unless it is a very mild soap with no perfumes and made for sensitive skin.
