Wiring a light fixture

Aside from the risk of electric shock that’s possible with any wiring project, light fixtures are notoriously easy to wire backwards. This is called reversing the polarity. The fixture and the circuit breaker will still work with reversed polarity, but getting the polarity correct is important to help prevent getting an electrical shock when changing the bulb. Licensed electricians can easily test lines and polarity to prevent danger down the road.
